ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS

Questions about how to submit artwork for screen printing? Read below or contact our art department.

We Take These File Formats

adobe illustrator (*.ai)

encapsulated post script (*.eps)

portable document format (*.pdf)

The formats below must be submitted at the actual print size in 300dpi resolution:

adobe photoshop (*.psd) – left it in layers

tagged image format (*.tif)

portable network graphic (*.png)

We usually don't accept .jpegs due to a lack of resolution quality. Microsoft Word, Publisher and PowerPoint are also not used. If your artwork doesn't meet these specifications, we can take a look at it but keep in mind that design charges may be in your future.

Please remember to leave all artwork in layers, rasterize or outline your fonts, and assign desired Pantone® colors whenever you can.

Stroke Line Thickness Needs To Be At Least 1pt .

Stroke line thickness needs to be at least 1 pt, 1 px, or .034".  Detail smaller than 1pt often won't hold when printed.  Non-print areas need to be at least 2 pts thick or they will completely fill in.

Design To Actual Print Size.

It's always good to submit your design files sized to your desired print size. Best practice is to consider the final print size while designing rather than enlarging it after the artwork is complete. This will make for a crisper, cleaner screen print.

Outline Fonts.

Due to the limitless number of fonts out there, we ask that you please convert all type to outlines in Adobe Illustrator. This speeds along the proofing process by ensuring we can view your type exactly how you intend it to print. There is a simple command that converts the type into a vector shape making it recognizable on any computer.

Maximum Print Sizes

When designing your shirt, please consider these maximum print sizes (width x height).

Note that garments like v-neck t shirts, pocket tees and other specialty shirts may have different print restrictions.

Adult unisex garments (shirts, hoodies, etc.): 20" x 20"

Fitted women’s garments and youth shirts: 11" x 17"

Women’s tank tops and toddler shirts: 9" x 17"

Infant garments (t shirts, body suits, onesies): 6" x 9"

Sleeve prints: 3.5" x 17"

Inside Neck Relabel prints: 2.5" x 2.5"

Upload Your Art

When you're ready, you can send artwork to us in these ways:

Email files (10MB or less please!)

Use a file transfer service like We Transfer

Color Separated Artwork

We require art to be color separated and film/print ready. Optimally you will provide us color separated art in the format we request. If for some reason you are unable to give us art in this format we will require a fee to do it for you. Our rate is $75 per hour with a one hour minimum. The scale of the separation will determine how much time and cost is billed to your account.

If you fail to supply us with color separated art we will reject your art and give you the option to either pay us or separate it yourself.

Vector Based Art

We prefer vector based art. If you art submitting vector art with a distressed effect, we prefer you create the effect in Photoshop and save it as a .tiff. Then place the .tiff in Illustrator or other vector based program and save the file as an .eps.
